Ikeja Metro Lions Club Donates Modern Toilet Facilities to Ifako Ijaiye Senior Comprehensive High School.

In a bid to serve the needy and impact the community, Ikeja Metro Lions Club has donated 5 units toilet facilities to promote better hygiene and support learning among students of Ifako-Ijaiye Senior Comprehensive High School in Lagos. This legacy project testifies the club’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community, despite fundraising challenges and approval delay from the government.
During the donation ceremony, District Governor 404B2 Nigeria, Lion Tolulope Ayodeji Senbanjo, commended the school’s staff and students for their cooperation, emphasizing that the facilities would help students develop better hygiene habits and combat open defecation. “We urge you to make good use of these facilities, which will motivate us to do more for the school,” he said.
Ikeja Metro Lions Club President, Lion Chike Akaeze, reiterated the club’s passion for service delivery, highlighting past projects, including a cholera awareness campaign and youth empowerment programs. He announced upcoming initiatives, such as sponsoring eye examinations and donating glasses in Ikeja.
Earlier, Lion Raphael Akinsulire, a past president of the club and CEO of Multi-Construction Company Limited, proudly notes that the newly donated toilet facility will significantly enhance the learning environment for students at Ifako Ijaiye Senior High School. As the civil engineer behind the construction of this modern facility, he emphasizes that it will allow students to focus and absorb knowledge more effectively.
He urged the teachers, management board, and students to take good care of this facility, ensuring it serves the school community for years to come.
The school’s management and students expressed gratitude to the Lions Club, acknowledging their contributions to the school and the broader community. The Principal, Babalola Elizabeth, commended the club’s efforts in supporting the Lagos State Government’s developmental agenda.
The Senior Prefect, Ojueniola Christiana, appreciated the donation, stating that the facilities would promote neatness and personal hygiene among students. This gesture underscores the Lions Club’s commitment to humanitarian projects and community development.
