EFCC Chairman Olukoyede Honoured with Top Canadian Award for Combating Financial Crimes.
The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has awarded the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding efforts in fighting transnational crime. The award ceremony took place at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja on May 21, 2025.

Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Pasquale Salvaggio, presented the award, commending Olukoyede’s leadership and the EFCC’s pivotal role in curbing organized crime. Salvaggio highlighted the successful partnership between the EFCC and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), citing joint operations like “Operation Hot Wheels” that disrupted vehicle trafficking networks.
Olukoyede expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in combating global crime. He pledged the EFCC’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Canada and the RCMP.
The event also honoured other Nigerian law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Customs Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Nigerian Police’s Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja.
