Apostle Olukilede charges Christians on helping needy
..as Heal the World Movement Convention begins
President of Heal the World Movement/ Founder of Tola Olukilede Ministry International, Ota, Ogun State, Apostle Tola Olukilede has spoken about the need for Nigerians to touch the lives of orphans and less privileged members of the society in order to give them hope and make the society better.
In a press conference to herald the annual International Covenant Believers Convention of his Ministry with the theme: ‘The Word Wonders’, the philanthropist whose Ministry has for more than 25 years been giving out school life scholarships to children in various orphanage homes, as well as taken care of the aged, declared that the whole essence of Christianity is giving, noting that any Christian who professes Christ without touching the lives of the needy is not a complete Christian.
” I established this Ministry more than 25 years ago, in 2003 to be precise and since then, we have been giving out school life scholarships to indigent children in orphanage homes. Right now, we have 352 children and we have paid their first-term school fees this year and will continue paying their second-term school fees in January 2023. The report I got is that eleven of those students have graduated and I have requested the various orphanage homes to give us more names so as to increase the number to 400.
” The essence of the school life scholarship is to train the children until any of them says he is no longer interested in going to school and I don’t think there is any other organization in the world not even Chevron or other multinational oil companies do what we’re doing. All they do is give out yearly scholarships. He noted that it is important for Nigerians to cultivate the habit of helping those in need so as to give them a sense of belonging.
On the convention of his Ministry which is expected to attract participants from Nigeria and other African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Sierra- Leone, Ghana, Liberia and South Africa, he announced that viewing centres have been set up in centers to enable people to participate through online even as he posited they are targeting 5-10,000 participants
On the theme for the convention which is ‘The World Wonders’, which means the word of God, he explained that what they are trying to do is to teach the people how they can become a wonder by the word of God.
“looking at my own testimonies, I have never been sick since I knew Christ and the reason is that I have located a word in the Bible which I have lived with every day. And that word is that he took our infirmities and sicknesses away according to Mathew 8:17. I stand on that word every day and there is no way the devil can collect what Jesus took. What this means is that Jesus took away Hypertension and Diabetes and it can not kill me. He took away 39 group of diseases and among these diseases are those that kill man. So, Christ took away all those sicknesses and diseases and through that believe in the word, I’m a wonder to my Medical Doctor.
“There are cases I will just go to his clinic and he will shake me. He will tell me that I have high blood pressure and to be sincere with you my blood pressure at a stage rose to 260 but I will tell him that it is normal and he will say, Sir, don’t go home, we will admit you but I will tell him that nobody carried me to his clinic and as such I can’t be admitted and he will just be looking at me and later will be expecting a call for an emergency which never happened for the past 27 years. Most times, he just looks at me and say Sir, you’re different but what makes the difference is the word.
The convention started on Monday, November 14, 2022, with ‘Home Day’ whereby invited orphanage homes and elderly people received financial and material help. There was also a health talk on Diabetes in partnership with Ikeja Crystal Lions Club and quiz competition and other things to make the children happy. Tuesday the 15th was publicity rally to create awareness for the convention and on Wednesday, the teaching itself began from 9 am- 2 pm with three teachings per day.
On Thursday, there will be a teaching and health talk show where medical personnel will be on ground to teach and test people free of charge on kidney and liver function, and diabetics and anyone that needs help on any of these will receive it free of charge.
Friday is also about teaching and talk shows on business while the last day Saturday is for Thanksgiving and celebration which will also witness the graduation of students in the Bible School.
He also announced that great men of God including Kenyan-based Apostle Uche Obiechie and Apostle Oluwayemi Deputy General Overseer, GOFAMINT Ministry will be at the convention while great gospel artists, Kelly Wisdom and Bola Dada will join the in-house artists to thrill participants with inspiring gospel music.
For the man of God, it’s about bringing spirituality and development of human capacity building for the growth of the nation.
