TASK OF SURVIVAL:

Migrating to Canada as a minor from Nigeria where he was born and raised, Andrew was faced with a life without parental guidance or support as he had no family, friends or family in his new environment.

The task of survival was daunting but the young man was determined to succeed as giving up was not an option. Armed with the belief that education and skill will be helpful, Andrew struggled, secured admission and graduated from the Central Commerce Collegiate, Toronto before proceeding to York University where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in international development studies from York University. A Certificate program in non-profit management from the prestigious Schulich School of Business was also obtained to further augment his skill.

FORAY INTO REAL ESTATE

The certificate program was an impetus to his philanthropic nature of helping the less privileged in the society. Thus he opened a non-profit organization as it has always been his dream and passion to help and contribute to the development of the poor and less privileged members of the society. For Andrew, it was a way of being thankful for the hurdles that he overcame and this was a way of paying it forward.

The organization couldn’t sustain itself after two years so he put a pause on it. As fate would have it, he secured a job with a construction company as a laborer, where he came in contact with real estate.

His interest prompt him to take a course for indepth knowledge but he had no funds to register for the licensing examinations and the struggle continued but with the grace of God, he was able to register and started his real estate journey with Remax Brokerage as a Realtor in 2012.

LIFE AS A REALTOR

The first two years were very challenging, lonely and troubling; his numerous efforts of marketing was not yielding as expected.
He would have quit but his goal and vision fueled his perseverance to even learn as much as he can.
He moved to Right at Home Realty Brokerage armed with fours years of experience.
His doggedness has paid off as he is now among the top one percent of Realtors in Canada within the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board success.

BEACON OF HOPE

Discrimination, marginalization, racial bias and income disparities are some of the challenges faced by those with house related issues. Andrew understands this so tirelessly works towards facilitating homeownership and rental opportunities for them especially black individuals and immigrants.
He facilitates the settlement of numerous black and immigrant families by aligning them with suitable housing options (through lease agreements or purchases) that cater to their income levels.

For more than a decade, he has been consistent with enhancing his operational capabilities while furthering his mission to combat marginalization within the realms of home buying and renting.
Going by his antecedents, he is the primary point of contact for newcomers to Canada and the Black community is now Andrew and his team thus becoming a beacon of hope for them.
